Benefits of School Clubs

Dear parents and students,
Dallas ISD expects all students to participate in at least one
extracurricular activity. The benefits of extracurricular activities
are many. They help students develop social skills, boost academic
performance, promote physical and mental health, etc.
At Zaragoza Elementary, we are pleased to offer clubs for students
to participate in during the school hours on FUN Fridays! Please
help your student choose 3 club options in order of priority. Fill
out the Fun Friday Choice Form in this catalog. Detach the page
and send it back to the school by September 19th. Fun Friday
Clubs will begin September 26th!

estudiantes participen en al menos una actividad extracurricular.
Los beneficios de las actividades extracurriculares son muchos.
Ayudan a los estudiantes a desarrollar habilidades sociales,
mejorar el rendimiento académico, promover la salud física y
mental, etc.
En la Escuela Primaria Zaragoza, nos complace ofrecer clubes para
que los estudiantes participen durante el horario escolar en los
Viernes Divertidos. Por favor, ayuden a su estudiante a elegir 3
opciones de clubes en orden de prioridad. Completen el
Formulario de Elección de Viernes Divertido en este catálogo.
Desprendan la página y envíenla de vuelta a la escuela antes del 19
de septiembre. ¡Los Clubes de Viernes Divertido comenzarán el 26
de septiembre!

Academic Activities

Fun Fridays Clubs

Origami club - Fold, flip, and create amazing paper art! Join us to learn cool origami designs like animals, stars, and more. Make new friends, show off your creations, and have fun turning a simple piece of paper into something magical!

Art Club- Have fun with color and creativity! Paint, draw, and make amazing projects while exploring your imagination. Everyone is welcome—just bring your creativity!

Chess Club- Join the fun and learn how to play chess! We’ll practice how the pieces move, play games with friends, and learn cool strategies to become better players. Whether you’re brand new or already love chess, everyone is welcome!

Coloring Club- Grab your crayons, markers, and imagination! In this club, we’ll color and draw to relax, have fun, and let our creativity shine. It’s not just fun—it also helps our hands get stronger and trains our brains to focus while we make amazing masterpieces!

First Lego League Club- Build, code, and create your own robot adventures! In this club, you’ll use Lego bricks and cool technology to design robots, solve fun challenges, and bring your ideas to life. Work with friends, explore your creativity, and see what amazing robots you can make!

Page Turners Book Club- Love diving into stories? Join The Page Turners Club! From adventures and mysteries to funny tales and magical worlds, every book opens a new door! Come read, imagine, and chat with friends who love books as much as you do!

Garden Club- Dig, plant, and grow! In Garden Club, we’ll explore nature, get our hands a little dirty, and have fun working together. Watch your garden grow and see the magic of plants come to life!

Kindness Club- Spread smiles, make friends, and make our school a happier place! In Kindness Club, we’ll do random acts of kindness, help others, and start a kindness movement that everyone can join. Small acts can make a big difference—come be a kindness hero!

Computer Coding Club- Get ready to code, create, and have fun! Bring your tablets or Chromebooks and join us on Code.org, MakeMake, Microsoft Arcade, and more. We’ll solve puzzles, build games, and turn big ideas into code. No experience needed—just curiosity and creativity!

Cursive Club- Get ready to make your words fancy! In this club, you’ll learn how to write in cursive and practice with fun games, activities, and creative projects. Soon, you’ll be writing in style and showing off your new skills!

Student council- Empowering student leaders to make a positive impact on their school community through teamwork, advocacy, and organizing engaging events and initiatives.

Soccer Club- Kick, run, and score! Join Soccer Club to learn new skills, play games, and have a blast with friends on the field. Everyone gets a turn, everyone has fun, and we all cheer each other on!

Lonestar Challenge- Do you love solving puzzles, answering tricky questions, and having fun with friends? Then Lone Star Challenge is for you! 4th and 5th graders team up—3 from each grade—and compete in 4 awesome events based on a cool theme. Work together, show off your brainpower, and see if your team can be the champions! (After school only)
